In the past, landing gear on trailers featured wheeled bases, while today’s designs favor wide, flat feet. The reason behind this shift lies in practicality: When a truck connects to a trailer, those wheels allow the trailer to roll slightly, relieving pressure on the landing gear. This prevents warping, bending, and compromising the gear’s components.
